Introduction

Untube ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome extension designed to run entirely on your own device. This Privacy Policy explains how it handles your information.

Our Privacy Promise

Untube is built on a foundation of privacy. We:

  • Do not collect any personal information
  • Do not transmit any data to external servers
  • Do not use analytics or tracking services
  • Do not sell or share your data with third parties
  • Do not require an account or login

Data Storage

Everything Untube saves is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage, and never leaves your device:

  • Your on/off preferences for each tweak (and the master switch).

Permissions

Untube requests the following permissions to function:

Host permission (youtube.com)

Runs a content script on YouTube to hide the elements you choose. It only touches youtube.com and never reads or transmits page content.

storage

Stores your on/off toggle preferences locally in the browser.

Third-Party Services & Remote Code

Untube makes no network requests. All code, styles, and fonts are bundled inside the extension. There are no third-party services, SDKs, trackers, or advertising networks.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data is local. You can clear it from the extension at any time, and removing the extension permanently deletes everything it stored. We have no ability to access or recover your data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last Updated" date above.
