Why we made this

We wanted a tool that made us less of a policeman, not more.

Every parental app we tried offered the same bargain: install this, and we'll show you everything your child does. It felt like the wrong trade. What we actually wanted was much smaller: for the rules we'd already agreed, out loud, at the kitchen table, to still be true at eleven at night.

So Parentech only does that. It keeps rules. It doesn't watch, score, or report on what was browsed. The browsing stays on the machine it happened on, which is both a privacy decision and a parenting one: you shouldn't have to read a log to trust your kid.
