Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 8, 2026

Introduction

Tallied ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome extension designed to run entirely on your own device. This Privacy Policy explains how it handles your information.

Our Privacy Promise

Tallied is built on a foundation of privacy. We:

  • Do not collect any personal information
  • Do not transmit any data to external servers
  • Do not use analytics or tracking services
  • Do not sell or share your data with third parties
  • Do not require an account or login

Data Storage

Everything Tallied saves is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage, and never leaves your device:

  • Per-day, per-website active-time totals (the last 30 days).

Permissions

Tallied requests the following permissions to function:

tabs

Reads the active tab's URL to know which site is in front. URLs are used only to total time locally and are never transmitted.

storage

Stores your per-site time totals locally in the browser.

idle

Detects when you step away so idle time isn't counted.

alarms

Periodically saves the running total so no time is lost if the browser suspends the extension.

Third-Party Services & Remote Code

Tallied makes no network requests. All code, styles, and fonts are bundled inside the extension. There are no third-party services, SDKs, trackers, or advertising networks.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data is local. You can clear it from the extension at any time, and removing the extension permanently deletes everything it stored. We have no ability to access or recover your data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last Updated" date above.
